If you have gone through my earlier posts then you would probably know about my experiences. On my last post, I shared my experiences of first meditation. In the beginning, it was very hard to focus on the images that I imagined while meditating but as time passed by, I was able to practice the meditation comfortably.

To be honest, I did chakra meditation for about a week and after that, I couldn't practice meditation due to my responsibility. Gradually, I forgot to practice meditation. I was again filled my mind with my everyday chores and responsibilities. But one day when I attend a conference in hotel Ashoka in Jyatha, Kathmandu. I again had a chance to play an antique singing bowl.

Visiting a shop for Antique Singing Bowl

Hotel Ashoka is very clean and affordable hotel. It has a friendly and familiar environment and I think everybody loves this one after their visit. In the hotel's ground floor, I noticed a decorative shop for tourists. Along with my friends, we entered the shop to have a glance at the antique items during our lunch time. I must admit there were varieties of materials displayed in that showroom. They have showcased woolen handicrafts, Thangka Painting, Antique Buddha Statues, Antique Singing Bowls, Carpets, Wooden masks etc. I took one of the Antique Singing Bowl and the striker and tried to play the singing bowl. Bingo, I really played well and my friends were not able to produce soothing sound in comparison to me. To tell the truth, It has very pleasant sound with a good resonance. Hearing the sound, I instantly remembered the soothing sound of my singing bowl that I almost forgot. I tried to remember where I put that bowl but it was in vain. I also feel little bored because I almost forgot for about 2 1/2 months and I was not able to practice the meditation. But I was glad that I remember about the meditation and I feel hopeful to practice it again. After lunch, we went to the hall for the further discussion on the official matter.

After the conference, I returned home and the first thing I did was I searched for the singing bowl that I bought. I searched my room at each corner but couldn't find the bowl. Lastly, I found it in my old cupboard which was covered by my bed sheets. I was very happy and was relieved to get the bowl back. I then took a nap and then went for my dinner. Before bed, I recalled all everything that I had experienced. I remembered the knowledge shared by Mr. Chitrakar, the Monk- Wangchuck, Visit to the monastery and the knowledge shared by him, my desire to buy an antique singing bowl, communication with the shop owner, Mr. Rohan Shakya. I realized that the special moments with them will be valueless if I don't practice and learn about meditation and balance the chakra. I also realized, if I practice the balancing then I will be spiritually healthy and will possess positive energy. Therefore I promised myself to continue the meditation and then made a planning in the notebook.

Meditation and Singing Bowl

At that moment, I planned that I will first do the meditation for only 5 minutes at first for the first month. During the first two weeks of the second month, I will concentrate for 10 minutes. Later on, I will do the meditation for 15 minutes. For the chakra meditation, I planned that I will concentrate on the 1st chakra for a week and then first three chakras for a month and then during first two weeks of the second month I will concentrate on the first to sixth chakra and after then I will concentrate on all seven chakras. So for two months, I will practice chakra meditation only and then after that I will be practicing how to balance the chakra using the singing bowl.

As planned I did the meditation the day after, I couldn't do much so I left the meditation after 1 minute. It didn't go well as I planned but I was more determined to do the meditation. So I didn't skip the meditation from that moment onwards. even it was for a minute. I basically did chakra meditation or awareness of the chakra for about 6 months every day and later on, I included chakra balancing using singing bowl after chakra meditation.

For the balancing the chakra, I sat comfortably in the chair with my spinal column straight then I strike the singing bowl for three times and then moved the striker around the edge of the singing bowl. The sound made me relaxing and I imagined a red colored energy entered into my root chakra. Similarly, I also imagined other colored energies entered into my other chakra as well. For 2nd chakra, orange colored energy; 3rd chakra, yellow-colored energy; 4th chakra, green colored energy; 5th chakra, light blue colored energy, 6th chakra, indigo colored energy and finally 7th chakra, violet colored energy entered inside my body at respective chakra location. I did the balancing daily but after months I realized that balancing only requires if there is a problem in certain chakra location. So afterward I continue the balancing only when required. Later on, I included other singing bowl meditation during my practice.

If I have to share my meditation experience I may not able to share clearly since it is a subjective experience but then if I have to tell one thing is after practicing it I feel more confident and feels like I have a positive energy within myself. Therefore I recommended to my fellow colleague to practice meditation.
